Chefs in Shorts 2012 and Pete and Gerry’s Heirloom Eggs
Chefs in Shorts was a great success this year despite the rain and high winds. This summer event featured 45 chefs grilling and preparing food for a sold out crowd at the Seaport Hotel and Trade Center in Boston, MA. The Beneficiary of this event is “Future Chefs”
who prepare urban youth in Greater Boston for quality early employment and post-secondary education opportunities in the culinary field.
Jeff of Pete & Gerry’s Organic Eggs and his daughter Amanda, an aspiring chef, along with Ken (also of Pete and Gerry’s) and his daughter Amanda were happy to greet people at our booth and share our culinary offerings If you happened to be a this fantastic foodie event we were serving braised pork belly with a corn salsa and Heirloom blue & yellow corn bread made with our Heirloom eggs prepared by Executive Chef Richard Rayment. Seaport Pastry Chef Karen Hodson also prepare a Chocolate Pots de Creme using our eggs with a fresh strawberry and cream topping. Also featured at our table was an elegant display of our heirloom eggs in a high glass tower vase. People were invited to guess the number of Heirloom Eggs in order to be entered in a contest to win a year’s supply of Pete and Gerry’s Heirloom Eggs.
