Art Director

Ideal Team Member

The Art Director is primarily responsible for in-house creative for our leading national egg brands. This critical role works closely with the brand management and digital marketing teams and routinely interacts with senior leadership. This position will develop and manage a growing creative department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with marketing team to understand business situation and creative needs then collaboratively drive projects from strategy and ideation, to design development and presentation, through to final execution for application across all touch points. Some projects include: email templates, social content, web content, photo manipulation, packaging, point-of-sale materials, digital banners, consumer promotions, improved brand guidelines and internal company materials.
  • Brand champion: maintain visual brand standards for three distinct and unique brands across all channels including digital, social, print, and in-store.
  • Juggle multiple projects at once while maintaining strong attention to detail to ensure all work released meets appropriate standards.
  • Strong partnership with all members of the marketing team and cross-functionally with sales, operations, and other functions.
  • Work closely with agency partners on all outsourced creative work.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as necessary.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 years of work experience at an Art Director or manager level
  • BFA or BA degree from four-year college or university (preferably in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Advertising or a related field)
  • Possess a strong understanding of graphic design concepts and software including the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Have a positive, energetic attitude and an infectious passion for design, motivating and inspiring the broader team.
  • Be a highly creative individual with strong execution and project management skills able to execute projects independently in an organized fashion.
  • Be comfortable in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment with a willingness and ability to be flexible and resourceful.
  • Be able to seamlessly shift between strategy and execution while also possessing the potential to eventually grow and manage the creative team.
  • Possess a strong point-of-view that you can persuasively articulate while also being openminded enough to consider and adopt others’ ideas.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback in a positive, constructive manner with non-creatives.
  • Strong understanding of branding, marketing, advertising, digital.
  • Strong sense of visual style — photography, design, typography, graphics, etc.
  • Understanding of photo process: from concept through to final retouching.
  • Understanding of digital design for web/social/mobile experience.
  • Strong knowledge of animation and video a plus.
